Learning

Think about your earliest memories . . . a place, a person, a game, your school, the list is endless but we aim for every day to be memorable at 1st Steps. We understand that children learn most when they are settled and happy in their environment. Learning through play is key but this will only happen in a fun and stimulating place which offer’s rich learning experiences to all. Resources are plentiful but these alone are just objects; it is our dedicated and well trained staff that bring all the pieces together and teach children how to play.

We incorporate the 7 areas of learning from the EYFS (Statutory Framework) in everyday play ensuring that the 'Help children achieve more ethos' (Every Child Matters) is embedded into practice. Early numeracy and literacy occur in many forms, from story, rhyme and music time, counting stairs as we climb. We build the foundations for children to develop emotionally and physically and enhance their ability to communicate effectively.

Every day is about preparing children for their life ahead, giving them the foundations to achieve and make a positive contribution to society.
