Holiday ClubHoliday Club is available over all of the school holidays for all school-aged children.
The Holiday Club is enjoyable for all children as well as the staff. This summer each week of the club was based on a different theme, which included Pirate Week, Film Week and Chef Week.
Pirate Week included a trip to the Maritime Museum to see ‘Shiver Me Timbers’, a show all about how to be a pirate. We then made eye-patches, swords and pirate hats to wear when we had a treasure hunt in the garden of the nursery.
Over Film Week we discussed our favourite films and the children brought in some films to watch on our pyjama day. We also went to The Plaza Cinema to see Cats and Dogs.
In Chef Week we discussed which meals the children would like to make. They decided on Meatballs and Pasta for lunch followed by Sponge Cake and Pizza for afternoon snack. After the children had made a decision on their meal we went to Asda and bought all the ingredients we needed. To end Chef Week the children enjoyed making and eating their own made meals. Lunch and tea were both a great success!
We also went on a trip to St Patricks School in Southport for a fun day which included making a banner to represent our nursery, having our face painted, taking part in a football tournament and learning some circus skills.
Other trips we enjoyed were going to the new park in Crosby Marina, a Bug Hunt in Crosby Beach, going to the Mobile Zoo in Bootle Library and attending Killen Green Park Fun Day.
As you can see, children attending Holiday Club enjoy many different activities throughout their time here and find the club so enjoyable as every day is different.
